Okay so this past week was tough, I am glad to say it is done! I got up each morning at 5:20AM and did my thing. My cute hubby was amazing too. He got up every morning with me. I am on the Monday, Wednesday, Friday running and he is the off day. It worked out really well this week. I am nervous about tomorrow because I have had 2 days off without jogging.
I got new shoes this past Thursday. I hope they work out. Since having my little boy I have found my feet are so not the same. I already had wide feet and now they are like super wide and short. At the store I went right for my old favorite Asics brand. They hurt when I tried them on. I was shocked that new balance fit me the best, they are trail runners so hopefully that will be ok.
I think I am going to change my route tomorrow. We live right next to a college and there is a big duck pond in front of it. There is a sidewalk all the way there! My family and I walked the route today (gorgeous day btw) and it is pretty flat. My regular route is all hill, no flat areas really anywhere. I think I have shin splints, yeah they hurt a lot on friday (I had to stop and stretch). I will have to be better about stretching. I am hoping that a flatter route will help as well.
I was up to 4 minutes on Friday of jogging then a brief walk with another 3 minutes jogging. The rest was brisk walking. I know it doesn't seem like much, but that is double my Monday time. 30 minutes seems so long at this point. I will get there minute by minute. Wish me luck out there this week. Remember if you happen to be out at about 5:30AM in my neck of the woods, please don't watch me run.
I think that the change in route will be much better.
